Elvis, the revolutionary movie directed by Baz Luhrmann and produced by Warner Bros. Studios released on June 24, 2022. This new musical drama follows the extraordinary life of Elvis Presley, starring Austin Butler and Tom Hanks. It follows Elvis’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, who narrates the life of Elvis, showcasing the start of his career including highs, lows, and end of his career, along with what shaped him into one of the most successful musicians of all time.

This two-and-a-half-hour movie is worth the watch. Throughout the drama, the songs got stuck in my head and I became entranced in the life of Elvis. In the beginning, I didn’t know what to expect because I hadn’t been an Elvis fanatic but by the end, the film had me singing “Suspicious Minds” by Elvis Presley and “If I Can Dream” also by Elvis Presley. From the first two minutes, I couldn’t peel my eyes off the screen and my interest held throughout the movie. I love both Butler and Hanks and seeing them act together was incredible. Overall, I’d give it five stars, one for the actors, one for the dramatic storyline, one for the wow factor, one for my favorite scenes, and one for the way this movie got me interested in Elvis Presley.
