With 14 Grammy Awards, 39 Billboard Music Awards, 40 American Music Awards, and 30 MTV Video Music Awards, making her #1 on the global pop chart list, Taylor Swift is undeniably popular. Currently, Swift is touring her eleven albums on her sixth concert tour, performing her way through her 274 released songs through her eras and surprise song sets. Such concerts have caused Swifties worldwide to fight for tickets to her concerts, causing the Ticketmaster scandal of 2022. Swifties worldwide fought for any tickets they could get, traveling to great extents to attend. After not receiving any tickets in the U.S., many Americans, including myself, looked for international shows when the dates were announced.
It was a dream seeing her perform in Zurich, Switzerland and Hamburg, Germany. All the amazing Swifties gathered in Europe and outside stadiums to see Swift at her concerts. Europeans, inspired by American traditions for the Eras Tour, have continued the trends of having their outfits reflecting Swift’s albums, trading friendship bracelets, writing “13” on their arms, screaming her songs and Swiftie chants, and more.
Taylor Swift has performed about 1-3 shows in many different countries: France, Sweden, Spain, Liverpool, London, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland, and she was supposed to perform in Austria, however the shows were canceled due to an alleged terrorist attack. However, since Taylor performed 30+ shows in Europe, there were many opportunities for Swifties to accomplish the dream of seeing her in concert.
Since the Eras Tour is not cheap in America, with ticket costs ranging between $500-$10,000 dollars per person, the Europe Eras Tour tickets cost between $50-500 dollars per person to see her. Americans used this as an advantage, since they could pay the same amount of money as it cost for one ticket to see her, for a trip to Europe, hotels, food, plane, and 2-3 tickets to the Eras tour. This financial aspect resulted in 50% of the people in the stadium being Americans, and the remaining 50% being Europeans.
Personally, the Eras Tour was my favorite concert, because it was simply amazing. Swift’s wardrobe, eras, dancers, surprise singers like Sabrina Carpenter & Gracie Abrams, glowing bracelets, confetti, fireworks, surprise songs, 3+ hour shows, and the singer’s energy and enthusiasm, all accumulate to make the show unforgettable for her loyal fans.
