Cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and donuts galore.
To celebrate the rebranding of the newspaper, the newly named “AOSE Press” hosted a bake sale. The staff contributed a generous amount of baked goods, allowing for $91 to go towards updated staff pins!
Students Bridget Lomax ‘24 and Ava Breault ‘24 revived the Academy newspaper after several years without it. They chose to keep the iconic name, The Beth, but this name has led to some confusion over the years. While “The Beth” seems an accurate title for the newspaper– and is less of a mouthful than “AOSE Press” – the name garnered some confusion. If you are already here, you know that the URL for the website is aosepress.org. The inconsistency of the name of the paper and the name of the URL confused students, hindering them from being able to find the paper. Additionally, the AOSE yearbook and club are also called “The Beth.” A name change for the school newspaper proved best to clear the confusion.
All proceeds from the bake sale will go to updating the staff pins with the new name. The title “AOSE Press” will replace the beloved but outdated “The Beth” staff pins and the website will see its rebranding with graphics from our graphic designer Isabella Misrahi ‘24. The modification of the newspaper name marks the end of an era but the start of an age the newspaper staff is excited to undertake.
Whether you brought in baked items or purchased them, you have contributed a great deal to helping the newspaper club with its rebranding efforts. Thank you so much to everyone who participated!
