Have you ever heard of Kamala Harris?  If you follow the news daily I’m pretty sure you know about her. Kamala Harris is currently the vice president of the United States of America.  She is the 49th vice president of the USA and the first female vice president of the USA.  She is also the first African American woman, the first Indian-American, and the first person of Asian-American descent. Before becoming vice president, Kamala Harris lived a life full of service.  She was the District Attorney of San Francisco, California Attorney General, and a United States Senator.  Kamala Harris was in Oakland California.  She attended school and eventually graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.  After graduation, Kamala Harris was elected District Attorney of San Francisco in 2003.  As District Attorney, Kamala Harris created a program to help first-time drug offenders obtain high school degrees. This program has helped so many people.

In 2010, Kamala Harris was sworn in as the California Attorney General.  As California Attorney General, she oversaw the justice system of the USA and established California’s first Bureau of Children’s Justice, and made other reforms that created better conditions for people in the justice system.  Then later in 2017, she became a Senator of the United States.  As Senator, Kamala Harris worked to improve the conditions of immigrants at the borders of the United States. She also worked to provide rent relief and to improve maternal healthcare.  Currently, as Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris is working to improve and help the lives of people all over the world.  She is working to fight the coronavirus pandemic in the United States.  Kamala Harris is an inspiration and a leader to many different people all around the world.  Throughout her life, she faced problems and obstacles but continued to pursue her dreams to make a difference in the world. Her journey inspires young girls and women around the world to work hard to make a difference in the world. As Kamala Harris states “Dream with ambition, lead with conviction… And we will applaud you every step of the way.” Work hard and your hard work and determination will pay off in the end.  Live your dream in everyday life.
